3 Simple Tips to a Happier, more Fulfilled Life

Every day we struggle and work incredibly hard to reach what the world views as “Successful”. Success to the world looks like a huge bank account, or a great paying job, or a mansion or luxury cars. Success is considered important because with success comes happiness and fulfillment in life. The world has taught us this and has engrained it into our minds so much so that we place this view of “success” on a pedestal that we desperately run after trying to attain it.

The truth of the matter is that true happiness and fulfillment cannot be bought by money or women or cars or any other type of material possession. Just look at the entertainment industry or the sports industry, we see a broad range of people who have all of the money, fame, women, cars and houses they could ever need or use and yet they commit suicide or fall prey to the addictions of drugs or alcoholism because they find out that even with all of that so call “Success” they still deep inside are just not happy.

Today I want to give you 3 tips to living a happier and more fulfilled life.

TIP 1: Faith in Jesus Christ

First and foremost, whether you want to admit it or not the biggest key to a happier more fulfilling life is to live your life with Christ in your heart. Jesus Christ came to set us free of our sins, and came to give us hope where there once was none. When we have Jesus Christ as the head of our lives, He will be faithful in protecting, comforting, and blessing us and giving us the ability to live life with more happiness, joy and fulfillment.

We can see this in John 10:10 – “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

Tip 2: Put God First in your Life

Many times in our busy lives of work, kids, family and friends we can often get into the habit of trying to fit time with God into our schedules instead of building our schedules around spending time with God. This of course brings us to a place where we are receiving little to no spiritual food daily and our faith and spiritual strength is weakened and begins to fade away.

Just like we need to eat food daily or we will slowly die, so too do we need to feed ourselves with the Word of God and spend time in prayer with Him daily. It is during these times where God speaks to us and gives us encouragement, our faith is strengthened, we are filled with happiness, joy and we feel the presence of God over our lives.

It is in these moments that we can better learn about the promises of God for joy, happiness, success, health, healing, and comfort. If we deny these times in our lives, we will soon be overtaken by the fears, and sins of this world and we will begin to conform more to this world looking for it’s pleasures and promises to fulfill what only God can.

Tip 3: Keep a positive attitude

Have you ever met a person that always seems to be happy? Who never seems to be bothered by what life throws their way? Keeping a good attitude despite what may happen in your life good or bad is another big key to living a happier life.

In fact the Bible in Philippians 4:6 says this – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” And we also read in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – “in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

We see in these verses that having a thankful heart and being thankful no matter what life has thrown our way is God’s will for our lives. These verses are showing that when we truly depend on and have faith in Christ and His ability to handle the hardships in our lives that we can give God thanks because we know that He is already working the situation or problem out on our behalf.

True happiness and fulfillment are not attained through the “world’s view” of success, rather it is having a personal relationship with our maker, and making sure that we place Him as the head of our lives, allowing him to lead and guide us through His Spirit. Best of all anybody can attain this relationship with Christ and best of all it is absolutely free of charge.
