A Change of Perspective – Where your Main Focus should Be

The question I want to ask today is: “Where is the main focus in your life today?

It really is true that we live in a fast paced society, dominated by technology that continues to push life even faster.  Our lives are packed with work, sports, kids, family, marriage, social life and more.  We often wonder where the time is going as our lives pass quickly before our very eyes.

We are so focused on what is going on around us in our lives that we often forget that we as Christians have a job to do down here on earth.  We have a worldly “here and now” perspective of our lives, instead of having a spiritual perspective.  It tells us in the Word of God that we do not belong to this world, that we belong in Heaven with our Heavenly Father.

John 15:18,19If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.

Our mission down here on earth is to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the lost, and to be an example (light) to the world.  So often we forget about our real mission here on earth, and we forget about the fact that because we are children of God that we are now only strangers here on earth, just waiting for the day when we go home to be with our Creator.

The things that we do in this world are important, and we do need to earn a living, and keep up with the times, however we need to shift our perspective from the world to our heavenly father, and we need to more on building our day around Jesus Christ, instead of trying to fit Jesus Christ in our busy schedule.

Matthew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of Godabove all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

I have found that every time I am faithful in putting God first in my life that I can accomplish everything I need to and still have time left over to enjoy my life.  Jesus Christ wants to help you, and is eager to bless you for your obedience, and for making Him the most important focus in your life.

If you have an area in your life that you are focusing on but can’t seem to get anywhere, I would encourage you to start putting God first in your life.  Start building your day around your time with God instead of just adding Him in as a last minute detail or not adding Him at all.
