In the Bible the “I know the plans I have for you” verse is found in the old testament in the book of Jeremiah 29 Verse 11. The full scripture verse which I will also add verse 12 as well in the New Living Translation is as follows:
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen.”
We can also see a slight variation of this Bible verse from the King James Version below:
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
This scripture in context is talking about how the Israelite’s are being forced away from their homes but the Lord is telling them not to worry because the ultimate plans He has for them are good and will eventually bring them a future full of prosperity and good.
This Bible verse is encouraging in many ways because of the fact that God has these same thoughts and plans for you and I as well. We have been carefully and thoughtfully designed and created by God with a specific plan and purpose on this earth.
Even though we may have times where we are unsure of which paths to take in life, or maybe obstacles or detours throw us off course, we can be encouraged that God has specific plans and purpose for us, that will ultimately bring us happiness, prosperity and fulfillment.
The key to walking out this plan for our lives is to trust and be in constant relationship with Jesus Christ, allowing Him to lead and guide us through His Holy Spirit. Even if we get off track all we need to do is humble ourselves, reach out to God and let Him take over the wheel once again.
