It’s not very hard to see that today we live in a world filled with selfishness, violence and and blatant antichrist spirit. It seems as though no matter where you go all over the world the Christian faith is met with pure hatred and a strong will to silence believers and the faith itself. As Christian it is of the utmost importance that we are filling our hearts with the Word of God so that when we come up against resistance and persecution we are able to stand strong in the faith, hanging on to the promises and words of wisdom from God himself.
We must remember and keep in mind that in these times there have been and are going to continue to be very influential people who are scholars, scientists, chemists, teachers, pastors and many others who bring their opinions and “intellectual” reasoning about the truth of God and religion to lead people away from the real truth of Jesus Christ. The Bible clearly tells us that these people are like wolves in sheep’s clothing, and that they will deceive many because their words will be what people want to hear and will not be the truth. We are told that we will however be able to distinguish these false prophets by their works and the fruit that they produce.
Matthew 7:15 ” Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep bur are really vicious wolves. You can identify them by their fruit, that is by the way they act.”
As Christians we need to have a strong foundation in the Word of God and we need to have a close relationship with the Holy Spirit so that we are able to catch these deceitful words and actions of the false prophets so that we are not deceived and led away from the faith. Jesus tells us in:
Matthew 24 4-6, 11-13 “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
Jeremiah 23: 16 -18 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says to his people: ‘Do not listen to these prophets when they prophesy to you, filling you with futile hopes. They are making up everything they say. They do not speak for the Lord! They keep on saying to those who despise my word, ‘Don’t worry! The Lord says you will have peace!’ And to those who stubbornly follow their own desires, they say, ‘No harm will come your way!’ ”
1 John 2: 20-26 “But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth. So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist. Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. ”
Heavenly Father I come to you now and I am so thankful for your goodness, faithfulness and compassion on my life. Father I ask that you would help me to continually hide Your words in my heart so that in times of trial or when deceivers come my way I will be able to stand strong in You. I thank you father that you have given us the authority and all we need in Your Word to overcome Satan and his sinful and deceitful tactics to lead us astray. You are truly the only amazing God and my desire is to serve and praise you forever. Amen
