We live in a world today that is incredibly demanding of our time and energy. It doesn’t matter how much you crunch into your daily 24 hours, there just never seems to be enough time to do everything that you need or want to do. These demands and lack of time often begin to build up and as they build up, so do our stress levels and anxiety. If we are not careful to control our stress and anxiety levels, it won’t ‘t take long to become so immersed in things that we cannot control around us and begin to create a harmful, degrading, atmosphere within our minds.
The problem with worry and anxiety is, it opens the door for Satan to get into our minds and play with our thoughts; turning every scenario or thought so that we imagine the worst possible case. He will influence you to think about situations that will most likely never come to pass. This of course can be very detrimental to your health, positivity, and mindset. God teaches us in His Word that instead of getting caught up in what is going on around us and becoming prey for worry and anxiety, to instead focus on Him and the promises that He has given us. We can see this in 1 Peter 5:7 -”Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.” and Philippians 4:6-”Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.”
It is important for us to remember that God is the creator of the universe, He is bigger than any problem or situation we can ever have. God loves us and cares for us and wants us to be in a state of peace and joy all the time. This is why He tells us to give all of our worries and cares to Him and then thank Him for what He has done. God will take care of all of our needs if we just learn to trust Him and lean on the promises He has made to us.
Luke 12:25,26 “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that what’s the use of worrying over bigger things? And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”
Proverbs 3:5 “Trust the in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Heavenly Father, I am sorry for taking my eyes off of you today and worrying about the things going on around me instead of placing my trust in you. I ask that you would help me increase my faith and that you would help me to be aware of the times when I become distracted by these worldly anxiety triggers. I thank you Father for Your promises that I can stand firm on and for delivering me from worry and anxiety today, in the name of Jesus. Glory to God – Amen
