The Word of God has many Bible verses about patience and waiting on God. These verses are very important as a reminder of how important patience is especially since we live in a society that is all about here and now, and we have been slowly brainwashed into feeling that everything should be instant and extremely fast.

There are constantly new inventions that come out that save us more time, and allow us to do tasks more quickly thus continuing to train us to expect things instantly. But God places importance on having patience, and taking the time to spend quality time in the Word and to patiently wait on Him for answers to prayer. We can see this through the many Bible verses about patience that can be found throughout the Bible.

I would like to give you 23 very good Bible verses about patience that will help to remind you that we need to slow down and take a break from the busyness of our lives and learn to practice more patience within our lives, and especially during our quiet time with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ” Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”


Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”


Ecclesiastes 7:8 “Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride.”
