We live in a world full of greed and selfishness, where for many the mere thought of helping others with time or money is a waste of their own time. We have been brainwashed by the media to only care about ourselves, to forget about the other guy and focus on going after what we want. Money has become a lifeline to many and with the economy threatening to put this lifeline in jeopardy, the chances of monetarily helping those in need has become almost non existent.
The Word of God however; tells us that the more we give of our time and our money, that the more we will be blessed and get back. God doesn’t care about money, what He does care about is that we serve Him, and that we place our trust in Him instead of in the money of this world. God is a very generous God who loves to reward His people when they follow His Word and put their full trust in Him.
Our lives as Christians are suppose to mimic the life of Jesus Christ, a life that was full of giving, and generosity. A life that was filled with helping others, and placing the needs of others above the needs of yourself. Jesus Christ, the perfect Son of God, came to earth, filled with people that He had created, and instead of mastering over them, He became a servant for them.
I truly believe that based on the principle of “What goes around comes around” and based on the Word of God, that the secret to living a life full of happiness and prosperity is to be generous and be willing to put the needs of others before your own.
