Fear runs rampant in today’s society, we are fearful of the violence, people, the unknown and all kinds of other things. Fear is an emotion that affects everybody from kids all the way up to full grown adults. The fact of the matter is that according to the Bible we don’t need to fear anything. If we are in Christ then we have nothing to fear at all, because although evil may attack us, we can still have peace and full confidence in knowing that God is on our side and will go before us against evil. Today I want to give you some popular bible verses for fear, which will help to encourage you to be strong and trust the Lord God.
1 John 4:18 “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love.”
Psalms 34:4 “I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.”
Isaiah 35:4 “Say to those with fearful hearts, Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.”
Job 11:14-15 “Get rid of your sins, and leave all iniquity behind you. Then your face will brighten with innocence. You will be strong and free of fear.”
Psalms 112:7 “They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.”
Proverbs 29:25 “Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.”
Matthew 10:28 “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch our soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.
Hebrews 13:6 “So we can say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?’”
Micah 4:4 “Everyone will live in peace and prosperity, enjoying their own grapevines and fig trees, for there will be nothing to fear. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has made this promise!”
Romans 8:15 “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as His own children. Now you call Him Abba, Father.”
Psalms 56:3 “But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
Psalms 56:11 “I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?”
Psalms 23:4 “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”
Isaiah 44:8 ” Do not tremble; do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses – is there any other God? No! there is no other rock – not one!”
Praise God, fear has no place in our lives. We are His children and He has promised us His protection, favor and peace. All we have to do is accept, believe and stand on this promise and God will be there beside us every step of the way no matter what evil tries to come against us.
